1931 Ford Model A Coupe: Nothing More, Nothing Less
This bad ass 1931 Ford Model A recently popped up on Marketplace for sale. If you’re in the market for get in and drive hot rod, you’d be stupid to pass on this thing.
There’s a lot to love about this thing. First off is the bulletproof setup. 350 Chev, turbo 700 and 9 inch are tried and true driveline recipe, guarantee to get you into trouble. Sure, it’s a Chev in a Ford, but rodders have been dropping the Generals OHV small block into Model A’s for years.
Next up is the interior, starting with that 1938 dash. A great piece of Art Deco design, it adds contrast to tough exterior. Same can be said for the 1949 Ford Steering wheel- the perfect pairing for the dash, despite being a decade newer. The seats finish off the interior perfectly, with cracked leather that looks as though it’s weathered a few storms. All character filled details, making for a rather nice cockpit.
And lastly, there’s the stance. Some would argue the chop is a little extreme, however I think it works perfectly. The thicker 32 rails ride right up against the body (opposed to more inner placed Model A frame), and give the car a more heavier look. Throw in some basic steelies and a 32 grill, and you’re really doing a lot of things right.
