1969 Ford F100: Blowing up

A solid truck at a good price.

Hunting for cars can sometimes be cut throat. And with the rise of Facebook Marketplace, the competition has become much more visible and noticeable due the amounts of comments and likes certain car ads receive.

Take for example this stunning 1969 Ford F100. This car was listed on Facebook at 9.30pm last night. It’s now morning, and less than twelve hours later the car ad has already racked up 340 likes and 160 comments (at time of writing). It will be sold within a few days. This is a brutal market we are in! Cars are now becoming serious investments, especially if the purchase price is good.

And at $16,000, this basic little F100 is very good. It is no wonder people are scrambling for the cheque books (or banks phone number). This car is an absolute bargain, especially considering it has been fully restored and is one of the most desirable F100 shapes (in my opinion). With a big 4.9l six and tow bar on the back, it would make the perfect tow car. Simple and basic – yet incredibly cool motoring.

If I could warrant buying a Ute (I can’t), I would probably be on the phone myself. Unfortunately, I have a toddler and divorce would be imminent if I pulled up in the driveway with a Ute such as this.

So good luck to all the Facebook fiends. I hope the winner is a worthy sole, deserving of this fine rig. To whoever it is, I am jealous, and I already hate you. But still, well done. Let’s hope we don’t see it listed in a few months with a few numbers added on.

See it on the ” FOR SALE HOT RODS AND OLD CARS EAST COAST AUSTRALIA” page here (if it’s still for sale).
