1985 Mazda S4 FC RX7: Pissed off

Today on Car Rave, and utterly mental Mazda FC RX7 with a heart transplant that will piss off a few.

This RX7 is one setup track car, with a long shopping list of parts (see below) and only a few track days under its belt. Also, you’d be hard pressed in finding a track weapon that is this good looking as well.

Building a good looking modified car is a lot easier when the canvas is the FC RX7. The late 80’s, early 90’s coupe was a stunner from the get go. Perfectly proportioned, it was designed with Porsche 924 and 944 in mind. But, where the SA22 was a pure sports car, and the FD that followed a twin turbo monster- the FC was designed to be more of a ‘tourer’.

So, unsurprisingly, most FC RX7’s these days are very modified. But few are modified to this level. Long gone is the 13b, in its place a somewhat more bulletproof (but less BRAP-y) Toyota 1JZ VVTI churning out 500hp. This will no doubt sadden the Mazda purists, but alas, at this point, who gives a fuck. I think all was lost a long time ago, so the Toyota donk is the least of your worries.
